| And it'll probably be even longer until next time...
But I have to say this:
I TOTALLY SAW THE REAL STEVE IRWIN AT AUSTRALIA ZOO!
He was on a dirtbike with his son in front, with a HAT and sunglasses on... and I just thought it was some random dude...driving around in the Zoo on a dirtbike... because that's NORMAL, right? :P Jochen pointed out it was him - after he smiled at me smiling at the strange man with a kid on his bike, and then ZOOMED off into the distance! We failed to stalk him. :(
BUT I SAW HIM!
And he didn't say "Crikey" :(
And we are renting a new washing machine and this is good and yay. :D | comments: 7 comments or Leave a comment |

| Just put a mini Outback Survival kit together as a present for the guys, who are leavibng tonight. I wish I'd made more time for it because it could have been really AWESOME. But those bastard tourists bought every single kangaroo scrotum bottle opener in the City. :( EVERY SINGLE ONE. I got he lighter holder one, but it's just not the same. Woe.
Anyway! It includes:
*Brisbane playing cards *Koala lighter *Big freezable Simpsons beer mug (with chocolate Duff cans!) *Kangaroo scrotum lighter holder *Candy canes *Australian flag beach ball *Two car bumper stickers 'She'll be right mate' and 'No worries mate'
I could have done better, but due to time and budget restraints, this is what it ended up being! Personally I think it's funky.
Now I'm writing a note on the back of a uni course advertisment poster (oops) with little drawings of kangaroos that say 'please don't run me over' etc.
Shame there's not actually anything USEFUL in there...but such is life. :P
Anyway, big thanks to Steve who trekked all around the city with m searching for stuff! :D

| The Notebook is easily one of the best movies I've seen in a long, long time. Cried almots through the whole thing. :( In a good way!
I also saw Mean Girls and Team America this weekend. And The Girl with the Pearl Earring last night. They were all ok/good, but The Notebook really wowed me. I'm going to have to buy it.

| Went out with Steve to Faith to meet some peeps, after pizza and drinks and Simpsons at my place. STUPID Lisa forgot her ID at home, and didn't realise until we were almost in the Valley. With the buses the way they are, we figured taxi was the way to go! So we zoomed off...and as we did, I got a call from Jochen saying their truck was (kinda) working and they were driving around everywhere. He was wondering if he could drop off all those books I lent to him for his management essay. If only he had called sooner and saved us a cab fare and a half. ;) But, as it turns out, he couldn't stop the car to drop the stuff off anyway, and zoomed by as I got my card. He later said that if he stopped and the engine stopped, then they wouldn't be able to start it again. But steve mentioned...couldn't he just have left the engine running? :P I shall ask him later!
Anyway! So we finally got back to the Valley and went to Faith. Was a pretty good night, but I was just so tired, bit unsociable. :( But the live band they had was awful. I'm sorry...I probably just don't understand it, but it was terrible. At least I got into the gith mood, it was so depressing suicidal thoughts made an appearance. Actually, that's a lie. They were more homocidal. :P
But yeah, I went home earlyish, was in bed by 2am. I just feel so tired! Partly because of the weather, and I guess because I need to start exercising properly again!
Today is clean/study/perhaps jog day. :D | comments: 1 comment or Leave a comment |
| WATCH ME SOAR!
Saw Serenity with Steve wednesday night, was good! (SORRY STEVE!) I was a little frustrated and ended up venting on him AGAIN. :P Sorry! ;P Sicne then there's been a bit of a talk and all is good.
No trip to Nimbin as was a possible plan - the boys' truck battery died completely and utterly when Jochen came by yesterday evening. Apparently soething's wrong with the altenator... anyhow, he had to call RACQ to come help, and eventually get towed back to West End, because it wouldn't last long enough to get back home. So today I think they've been off trying to find a new one, or restore the old one, or somesuch.
*I* however, have been SHOPPING. Bought a plain pair of thongs (much needed, the others are so tatty!), a black top from Kookai, some printer ink annnnd....that's it. I had NANDO's though. ;)
Oh! The reason why I was shopping! Turns out I've been accepted as new housemate at the house I looked at earlier this week! Whee! Going to go for brunch on sunday to meet the second guy I'll be living with. And we all know how much I love brunch... But yeah, will be living with two guys (both called Michael) in an old but pretty roomy Queenslander. The place has a lovely garden and a great place underneath the actual house to just sit and chill. :)
What else...working hard on these projects duuue.
And tonight is Faith with a bunch of people I don't know (yet) from dA and other places! So funness! I have a feeling tomorrow will be jog and nap day, with some studying. Should be good though. :)
Anyway, I should clear the place up a bit as Steve's coming over for dinner and a few drinks first!
And I got bitten by a bull ant on my ASS and my foot this week. :( Swollen up something rotten. :( Woeness!
Oh, and next weekend is a housewarming party over at the Germans' place... less than two months before they leave. Go figure. :P
What else...Byron was still awesome - I have been admired for my 'surfy hair', something that made me feel pretty proud...but not as proud as hearing 'surfer girl' from Sam and Spencer in my Asia class. What can I say? :P
Ummmmmmmmmmm, I think that's about it for now!
So excited about the new place though! RIGHT by Woolies, and it'll mean faster/easier way to uni cause I'll be at the Express stop! YAY! Now just to rope the boys into helping me move... ;P | comments: 4 comments or Leave a comment |

| And then back to reality. Woeness!
Actually it's pretty good being home in my own bed. Sharing a single top bunk bed is cosy, but not really comfy. Had an awesome time learning to surf! Pictures are here:
http://lisa391.fotopic.net
There are also some of the general Byron Bay area, the oldest lighthouse in Australia, the most easterly point of mainland Australia, and some funky vans. So, enjoy!
I'll fill in more, and from Fraser soon, promise! Just so tired now.
And I have to go look at a room tomorrow morning around 10am. WISH ME LUCK! For the place is cheap, conveniently located, and...well...hopefully big enough for my bed, cause I don't want to give it up. :P
Night!
PS I can kinda surf! :D | comments: 7 comments or Leave a comment |
| And yet I won't be leaving uni before 7.30pm...at the earliest. :(
WAHHH.
BYRON TOMORROW, YAY!
But right now, I couldn't give a crap. I just wnt to be home and have aspirin, take my lenses out, and sleep. And get a massage. But Someone doesn't give very good ones. :P | comments: 2 comments or Leave a comment |
| Terry called me last night! :D Really cheered me up, thanks hon!!!!!! :)
Other than that, I finished my bit for the stupid Toyota project that I'm slowly beginning to hate. We're having a group meeting over it at 7pm. :( Hopefully the last, since I'm going to BYRON BAY tomorrow! For a 3 day surfing lesson course! And I hear there are some awesome clubs/bars, so should be good. ;) Yayayayay. :)
But first! I have a music exam I've not rally studied for. (oops) But it's not until 2pm, without any classes before it. So I shall go to the music library and read/take notes/boogie down all morning and early afternoon.
But before THAT, I have to buy some shampoo, possibly some hair lightening spray (my dye job to blonde...let's just not talk about it, ok?) and this sheer sexy bohemian style top which is HOT. Unf unf baby.
What else... I really want to go back to bed. :P Just a wee little nap...but I must resist! I shall persevere!
And I was going to say something, but I forgot!
Oh! Yesterday! Spent the morning bookin the Byron Bay jobbies with Jochen - then FLEW to uni (cause I was late) to meet Zach for lunch. We ate at the pizza cafe there; I had a gorgeous pancetta and potato pizza (Pasolini), which was YUMMY. Then since I decided I didn't really want to go to my law lecture, we ended up anging out in his dorm room until about 4pm. NOTHING DODGY. And since I didn't have a class until 5pm, I went over to the squash courts to check out Jochen and Denny playing squash. I was supposed to keep the score, but if I looked away for one second, I'd miss something andthen have no idea what was going on... So I guess I'm not too good at that. ;) Was interesting though, never seen squash played properly, a la rules. Oh, and my main aim was to be heckling them, but it's hard to heckle people who can't hear it clearly the first time. :( Kind of spoils it. :P Ummm, then class finished early. Whee.
And from monday onwards, I have to start doing some hardcore research for the last three assignments due. Oh the fun!
Anyway, Ishould get a shower and get to it... | comments: 2 comments or Leave a comment |
| Or some sanity, consideration, whatever people seem to lack these days. I'm not saying this for any particular reason, or for anyone in particular's benefit... just caught up in a moment of Michael Bulbe (e with an accent that I can't find the ALT + number code for). Loving his latest album, s'very nice. So nice in fact, that I'm sending a copy to my parents, one to my aunt, and one to my best friend. Anyone else want it? It's great romancin' music! ;)
So today was pretty average, as uni days go. So average, in fact, that I won't even bother going through it.
But tomorrow I have a lunch date with Zach, the guy from Arizona. Just going to recap on what we've been up to during our midsemester breaks, should be good.
I've also been taking down details for shared accom stuffs - will try to look into those this week... Since they're raising my rent by 10 dollars a week, it's getting a weeeee bit too pricey.
And Rich, I found the swedish/english english/swedish lexicon that I never told you I lost, and will be sending that along with a letter very soon! Promise!
Anyway, wish me luck with the house hunting stuff, it's not going to be fun. But I'd love to find a place and get settled before the exams... Sooner the better really, and the boys have the truck to help transport stuff if I need it, so that's pretty good. I just want to know if the bedrooms will fit my queen sized bed. I'm rather fond of it. :(
Oh, and share housing means no noisy sex. :( Damnit, hadn't thought of that one. :P Bugger! Oh well! Win some, lose some. :P
Oh, and it's getting HOT here - almost burned my butt off on a very hot black seat at uni. :( | comments: 2 comments or Leave a comment |

| Lalalala.
I was going to write a bunch of stuff, but because my intarweb was messing up, I have no idea what it was.
Exam thursday, in music. Was funking it out with James Brown in the library yesterday...as part of my revision - how good is that? ;)
Spent the evening at the Germans' house, after a 20 minute stint at the Queensland museum... Jochen got too hungry to look around. So off we went to South Bank! I had that gorgeous chocolate coated strawberry crepe thing, he had calamari and chips. I was forced to try it - gave it two goes, but the consistency is just....eww. I can't describe it, but it made my skin crawl. ICKY PANTS. Too rubbery, I reckon. :P
So yeah anyway, we were going to watch my The Grudge DVD, and after much fiddling around with Marco's laptop (they don't have a DVD player), they got it to work! ...or so we thought. It started hacking a bit; the sound didn't quite follow the pictures, and then it all went to pot, pretty much. And speaking of pot... ;P They startedsmoking - I didn't want any as usual, and I don't mind them doing it, but for some reason last night I got a bit of a horrible flashback/deja vu style thing because of the smell. It reminded me of teh uber evil ex, who I'd rather not remember at all. Although he still has my bloody wine glasses. Grr. Anyway. Yeah, so that kind of put me out of sync a bit.
I still managed to teach Jochen...well, tried to ;), 'Hej Knekt', a swedish card game for kids, that makes the use of coordination, speed and reflexes! I have to say, playing against someone who's both learning and is high is kind of like attacking an unarmed person. ;P Nahh, he caught on really quickly - even though he kept insisting I was slower every time I only had 2-3 cards left in my pile, just to keep the game going. :P But yeah, good game if you're drunk, or high, I guess. ;P
To be honest, I've been getting out of sync a fair bit lately - been getting sulky easily, or grumpy, and I can't seem to pull myself out of it. I'm not liking this, it's now how I am, it's not how I want to be. I guess I'll just have to pull myself together and catch myself before I let it consume me. RAWR. Relaaaaaaaax.
Hmm, what else. Yeah, still no Fraser update, it'll come soon. Honest!
Oh, and I've decided two things: I still have to go jogging, and I have to email a bunch of people I've not talked to in too long. And hopefully call them etc, if time zones allow. Feeling a bit lonely I guess, and that's part of my moodiness. GAH. Hate it. ;P
Need good music, that'll do it.
And to stop trying to use my camera as a mouse, that'll help. Oh, and write letters to people! And the postcards I bought in Hervey Bay....oops. I'll do it today! Or try...
Anyway, latero peoples! | comments: 4 comments or Leave a comment |

| From Fraser Island and Hervey Bay! And what an adventure it's been... but I'll update more on that later when I'm not so knackered.
Currently dying my hair - going back to blonde for the summer! Whee! Although it's looking a bit darkish. :( So I don't know how that'll turn out.
Went to the multicultural festival today with Jochen, was pretty good - as usual, my main interest was the food... but now I feel a bit sick. Had vietnamese spring rolls with rice and pork balls, then an italian cannoli (well, half of) and red orange juice, and then greek honey puffs! And then dinner again at home. Which I shouldn't have done. :P BLERK.
I have an exam thursday. Comepletely unprepared, and not feeling to keen to work on it. BUT! I'm going to uni tomorrow ON MY DAY OFF like a good girl, to check out some of the music pieces I need for the exam. (It's in the Elivis to Madonna course). I also have a paper due this week, that I've already done my bit for (group project), so I'll be happy once that one's handed in.
What else...might be going to Byron Bay for the weekend, with a learn to surf course thing... way overdue, I know. :P Mmmm, what else...
May as well give a hint to zee adventures of Fraser: Sand bogging, car locking and evil bus drivers.
And! http://lisa391.fotopic.net
